Living victoriously with Cerebral Palsy

Soaring Above The Clouds
An Autobiography of Perseverance and Victory
"Our trials also play an important role in our lives here on earth. Through our trials we learn to exercise and strengthen our muscles of faith and in many aspects they prepare us for the various ways in which God wants to use us in service to Him. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4

Contrary to the popular teaching that it is always God’s will for us to be healed, it is my prayer that whoever reads this book will be encouraged to learn that there truly is great power in our weaknesses. Not for one moment do I doubt that God could heal me in an instant. He doesn’t even need my faith to do so. However, up until this point, He has not done so, choosing to use my disability to impact lives in a far greater way than what an actual physical healing could ever have been used. I can truly say that choosing to use my weaknesses for His glory is an absolute honour for me as I have come to know Him in ways that I am sure I would never have known Him if I was not forced to be so dependent on Him."
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:8-10

my Story
I was born in 1974 in Rhodesia (now known as Zimbabwe). From the time of my birth doctors were aware that there was something wrong with me. Among other abnormalities, I experienced much seizure activity as a newborn baby. Many tests, including lumber punctures were executed in order to determine what was wrong with me. Eventually when I was eighteen months old doctors informed my parents that I had severe Cerebral Palsy.

Doctors went on to tell my parents that I would never walk, talk or be able to do anything for myself. By great determination, perseverance and faith I started walking at age ten. I finished my schooling years well and even obtained two diplomas. I spent six very stifling years in a Home. Determination and faith has taken me on a journey of mountain highs and valley lows and has brought me to a place in my life where I now live independently, in a little flat with her dream garden, on the church property where I help out in the office.
